Custom Built-ins & Storage Solutions in Southeast Idaho
From mudroom drop zones that actually work to entertainment centers built flush with the wall, we design and build storage that fits your space exactly — not a pre-fab unit you're trying to make work. Every built-in comes out of our Idaho Falls shop and is installed by the same crew that built it.

A freestanding bookcase sits against a wall. A built-in becomes part of the wall. That distinction matters — built-ins integrate with your architecture, match your trim profiles, and feel like they were designed with the house rather than placed in it afterward.
Built-ins also solve storage problems that furniture can't. A mudroom with custom cubbies, hooks at the right height, and a bench with a shoe drawer underneath doesn't just look good — it changes how a household functions every single day. A built-in pantry with pull-out shelves makes a kitchen dramatically more usable without touching the room's footprint.
We've built storage solutions for Idaho homes for 20+ years. Mudrooms in Rexburg, entertainment centers in Idaho Falls, bunk beds and closets across the region. The common thread is that they're built to work — not just to look like something from a showroom.

Built-in Storage Types
Every project below is built to order in our Idaho Falls shop. No two are exactly alike — we design around your space, your style, and how your household actually uses the room.
Mudrooms
The most-requested built-in in Idaho. Coat hooks at adult and kid heights, a bench with shoe storage underneath, cubby lockers for gear, and upper cabinets to hide the clutter that doesn't need to be visible. Built to match your existing trim so it looks original to the house.
Entertainment Centers & Media Walls
Flush-mounted TV walls with integrated speaker locations, equipment cabinets with ventilation, built-in shelving for books and display, and a finished look that hides cords and boxes entirely. We can work around existing fireplaces or frame new ones into the design.
Closet Systems
Custom-designed closets that use every inch of your space. Double-hang sections for shorter items, long hang for dresses and coats, drawer stacks built into the closet, shoe shelving, and adjustable shelves where you actually need them. Walk-in and reach-in configurations.
Bunk Beds & Loft Beds
Solid wood bunk beds that feel like furniture, not a safety hazard. We build twin-over-twin, twin-over-full, and custom L-shaped configurations with integrated ladders, guardrails, and optional under-bed storage drawers. Built to ASTM safety standards.
Home Office Built-ins
A desk built into an alcove or spanning a wall, with overhead cabinets, file drawer stacks, and open shelving in the right places. We can build around an existing window, hide a printer in a cabinet with a pull-out shelf, or design around a specific monitor setup.
Fireplace Surrounds & Mantels
Built-in cabinetry flanking a fireplace, with a custom mantel and surround that unifies the wall. We can extend a fireplace treatment floor-to-ceiling with shelving and cabinet storage on both sides, transforming a basic gas insert into the focal point of the room.
Pantry Cabinets
Full-height pantry cabinets with pull-out shelves, lazy susans, door storage, and spice drawer inserts. We build pantry cabinets to match kitchen cabinetry exactly — same door style, finish, and hardware — so they look like part of the original kitchen design.
Window Seats
A window seat with a hinged lid and storage underneath, or drawers on the front face, built into a bay window or alcove. Upholstered top available through our upholstery partner, or we leave it raw for you to have padded independently.
How We Build
Built-ins are only as good as the installation. A wall-mounted unit that isn't properly secured to studs, or a mudroom bench that flexes when you sit on it, is worse than having nothing there. We overbuild structural components because we know they'll see daily use for decades.
- Furniture-grade plywood boxes 3/4" plywood for all structural components — no particleboard that can sag under load or swell from humidity in mudrooms and laundry rooms.
- Solid wood face frames and doors Mortised or pocket-screwed solid wood face frames in alder, maple, oak, or species to match your trim. Door fronts are solid wood, not MDF routed to look like it.
- Anchored to studs and structure Every wall unit is fastened to wall studs. Mudroom benches are built to hold adult weight without deflection. Bunk beds are engineered for safety, not just appearance.
- Finished to match your home We take a sample of your existing trim or a door from your kitchen and match it. Stain, paint, door profile — all calibrated so the built-in looks like it belongs.

How It Works
In-Home Consultation
We visit your home, measure the space, and talk through what you need the built-in to do — functionally and aesthetically. We look at existing trim, door styles, and finishes so we can match them.
Design & Quote
We send a written design proposal with a detailed quote. You'll know exactly what you're getting — dimensions, materials, finish, hardware — before signing off. Revisions are included.

Installation
Our crew installs the built-in, makes any site-specific adjustments, and finishes with scribing and trim so it looks like it was built into the house from the beginning.

Built-in Storage Questions
How much does a custom built-in cost?
A single-wall mudroom with bench, cubbies, and upper cabinets typically runs $3,000–$7,500 depending on size and complexity. A full entertainment center wall can range from $4,000–$12,000. Simpler pieces like a window seat or closet system typically start around $1,500. We price every project individually and give you a detailed written quote before any work begins.
Can you match my existing trim and cabinets?
Yes, and we do it on almost every project. Bring us a door from your kitchen, a trim sample, or even just good photos. We match the door profile, wood species, stain color, and finish sheen. When we're done, the built-in should look like it was installed when the house was built.
How long does a built-in project take?
Simpler projects like a window seat or single closet system take 2–4 weeks from design sign-off to installation. More complex projects — a full mudroom, entertainment center, or home office — typically take 4–7 weeks. We give you a firm timeline in your written proposal.
Do you build around existing features like fireplaces or windows?
All the time. Designing around architectural features is one of the things that makes a built-in look intentional rather than added. We can frame a fireplace with built-in cabinets and shelving, work around a window in a home office, or incorporate an existing HVAC vent into a mudroom design so it's hidden but still functional.
